Basic Information
Name: Cedar
- Meaning: Common name for various types of coniferous trees
- Pronunciation: SEE-der
Aliases: Once called 'Clever' as a child, mainly by her mother. Otherwise, she had gone by many aliases across her lifetime.
Age: 3 years
Subspecies: Iberian wolf
Allegiance: None; she is her own woman, however a pack could prove very useful...
- Rank: Sigma
- Desired Rank: Medic
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Physical Characteristics
Condition: Alive and well, but even thinner and frailer than usual due to a lack of food
- Height: 28in / 71cm
- Weight: 63lbs / 29kg [currently underweight and hovering around barely 55lbs)
Physique: Cedar stands at an extremely average height, right in the middle of the range of what would be standard for a she-wolf and exactly the right height for an Iberian female. Her figure, however, is not so average, with her very thin, scrawny build and pathetic lack of muscle. There is hardly any definition to note, besides the faint outlines of her ribs showing through even when she is at peak health and eating well.
Perhaps she does not have a strong, voluptuous, pup-bearing body, but she is far from ugly, possessing nicely proportioned, delicate, almost fox-like features. She has a thin, narrow muzzle... perhaps it is a tad on the longer side, but it is very well shaped. Her ears are thin and triangular, set a bit low on her slim head.
Fur: Tame and well-groomed as Cedar puts great care into her grooming and appearance. Her fur remains soft and fluffy, particularly around her neck where she has a notable mane. Her coloring is nothing special—mostly grey and rosy tan with creamy white undersides and bits of black fur here and there. However, on closer look, she has many distinctive markings, such as the white spots on her cheeks and on her brows, and crisp black lines under her eyes, outlining the edge of her auburn facial mask. Then there is her diamond-shaped caudal marking. It's a beauty spot, really. As she is an Iberian wolf, a dark line runs from her shoulders down her forelegs.
Eyes: Narrow with an upwards slant, strongly almond-shaped and almost always with a certain shiftiness. Most might describe her as having a glint of mischief in her eye, and she certainly is a sly dog... Cedar considers her eyes to be her best feature, with their sleek femininity and rare coloration—a light, clear moss green which shines brilliantly under the sunlight.
Imperfections: None; Cedar is perfect.
Physical Strengths
» Nimble - Cedar is light and fast on her paws, possessing great agility and dexterity. She is able to maneuvre as swiftly and effortlessly as a fox and is incredibly confident in her ability to escape from danger as a result.
» Stealthy - With her light pawsteps, she finds it easy to roam quietly... all her life she had been sneaking about, just to stay out of the Guards' way and avoid being punished for existing as a bastard Omega pup. She became rather good at it, and as an adult, the art of stealth has become second nature to her. Moving downwind to avoid detection, keeping her paws away from forest litter... it comes instinctively.
Physical Weaknesses
» Weak and Frail - Unsurprising considering her build, Cedar is incredibly weak in a physical confrontation. Her bite is nothing to behold and she couldn't dream of holding another wolf to the ground, unless it was already half-dead. It doesn't help that she doesn't have the skill, training, or tactics to fight like a warrior, putting her at a great disadvantage when words aren't enough. Even worse, she can hardly take a hit.
» Poor Sense of Smell - Pathetic, right? For a wolf to be so lacking in this sense... it's not like she can't smell or anything like that, but it's certainly much weaker than most other wolves and she finds herself completely missing some trails because they weren't fresh enough, or another scent overpowered it, or because it was simply too subtle. She's often not the best at identifying individual wolves' scents either and can barely pick up any characteristics about a wolf from their scent.
Mental Characteristics
Personality Type: Extrovert
Alignment: Neutral Evil
MBTI: ENTP
Enneagram: 7w8 sp/so
Western Zodiac: Libra
Overview: Cedar is a talkative wolf, always keen and eager to mingle with others. She is confident in her interactions and can easily alter her disposition to suit her situation and environment. Perhaps some may call her 'fake' or 'dishonest,' but if you ask her, she is simply charismatic and cunning. She understands very well there are other ways out of unpleasant situations than simply tearing the throat of whomever may be your latest adversary. If she can talk her way out of it or manipulate a situation to her advantage, she gladly will. Do not take her for a coward, however... quite the opposite, in fact. She is incredibly bold and makes many risky moves. She has no issue with stealing from a wolf much stronger than she is, or even from a bear, if she believes she can get away with it. She just likes to be strategic about it and she likes to think before she acts.
While she is bold, she generally prefers to avoid conflict as much as she can, simply because she doesn't particularly have the strength to be fighting with others all the time. If she were to fight one-on-one with most healthy adult wolves, she'd be in quite some trouble. So she does what she can to avoid making others angry and tries to forge peaceable connections with her fellow wolf... for the most part, sometimes she just simply isn't interested in being friendly. Not that she will go out of her way to poke and prod another wolf, but if she cares not for diplomacy, she'll simply take what she wants and run off. It's too bad she is lacking in physical strength, or perhaps it's a good thing, because she finds herself stricken with the urge to kill someone fairly often. Perhaps her temper is not the best, but she keeps these urges to herself and has remarkable self control.
Despite her murderous urges and how she finds herself quite easily irritated, she is calm and rarely has any sort of emotional outburst. It's very easy for her to keep her composure, see?
Cedar is an egotistical wolf that thinks very well of herself despite her upbringing being what it was and the pack she was born to making it clear that she should not value herself. It doesn't matter what they think, she knows her own excellence. She is vain and perhaps a bit overly concerned with her appearance—she spends much of her time cleaning and ensuring that she is tidy, well-groomed, and beautiful. She is not only concerned with her own appearance, but with others' as well. She has a great appreciation for beauty and prefers to spend her time around good-looking wolves.
Unsurprisingly, with her superficial interests, Cedar is very materialistic. Even before she notices another wolf's beauty, she asks herself what this wolf can offer her. Most commonly, she thinks about what the wolf can hunt for her. As a pup, she starved to the point she would have to eat snow, so food is never too far from her thoughts. Cedar is incredibly greedy as well and will take far more than she needs or is her fair share.
Mental Strengths
» Clever - When she was a child, she was gifted with the name 'Clever.' With her fast thinking, resourcefulness, and sheer cunning, she finds it easy to come up with ways to get herself out of trouble, which seems to have a way of finding her.
» Silver Tongue - Cedar is nothing if not a smooth talker. She's diplomatic, polite, and knows how to talk to others, especially those of good breeding. She can be persuasive and she can be manipulative, and she uses this to her advantage. Her charisma has helped her cheat death and get away with murder on more than one account.
Mental Weaknesses
» Selfish - Cedar has a coolness to her demeanor. Though she speaks well and can put up a deeply sympathetic and caring act, she is out for only herself and couldn't care less about other wolves outside of what she can get from them.
» Egotistical - Cedar is truly the greatest—she is the most intelligent, capable, beautiful, and important wolf around, and she is the center of the universe. She has complete and utter conviction in this, and she will not be made to believe otherwise.
» Envious - She had a childhood permeated by want and often not having all that she needed. She became envious of others for what they had, and was often ungrateful for whatever her mother provided for her. Her jealousy has led her to become a thief, a trespasser, and, in some cases, a killer.
Likes
» Getting what she wants
» She has little sympathy for most wolves, but she is fond of them, especially strong wolves that can give her plenty of food. And it's fun to banter with other wolves and stroke their egos.
» Stealing
» Killing. It's very satisfying to simply murder a wolf the old-fashioned way, but Cedar rarely has the opportunity. Poisoning other wolves or setting up terrible traps is more her thing.
» Food; she is partial to fresh venison, a luxury she rarely gets to enjoy.
» Flirting
» Warm weather
Dislikes
» Winter
» Pups
» Morons, wolves who never say anything, and rude wolves
» She hates how sloppy she looks when it's been raining, especially if it was a particularly heavy downpour that made a lot of mud.
» Fighting is a real pain.
» Mice. At least, she doesn't like eating them. They remind her of some terrible times in her life. She doesn't like to eat intestines either.
Fears: Starvation. Betrayal. Humiliation.
Insecurities: Her lowly upbringing and past as an urchin, primarily. She hates to think of it and would rather pretend none of it ever happened. Much of her past in general, she'd rather forget. While she is indeed confident in herself and her appearance, she occasionally feels a twinge of disappointment at her scrawny figure... mainly the physical weakness that comes with it.
Quirks: Cedar moves in a catlike way, from her slinky walk and the extreme flexibility she shows when she cleans herself. She almost always has a sly smirk on her face. She twitches an ear when something gets her attention, or when something ticks her off.
Relationships
Mother: Juniper, a lowly Omega of her birth pack
Father: Spruce, a dashing rogue tragically murdered
Siblings: She had three littermates, but none survived to see their first winter.
Mate: Had a few children with him as well... as far as Cedar is aware, none of them made it.
Extended Family: None worth speaking of.
In-game Relationships: [none yet]
Miscellaneous
Voice and Speech Patterns: Cedar has a smooth and feminine voice. She talks slowly and evenly, her words clearly enunciated and voice strongly projected. Cedar is well-spoken and polite, verbose and often poetic. She has a very emphatic and often theatrical way of speaking. She always did long to be a thespian, after all. Notably, she likes to pepper her speech with some French just for that extra bit of je ne sais quoi, even though she is most certainly not French.
Scent: Fresh and floral, as she enjoys rolling in a patch of flowers each chance she gets to keep herself smelling lovely. She has a certain sweetness to her scent, like a rose.

History
The pack Cedar was born to enforced a harsh hierarchy, a strict caste system where wolves were defined by their birthright and little else. The alphas ruled at the top, with the betas at their side, their guards protecting the land, the hunters feeding the pack, and the omegas. Omegas had no defined task, except to do whatever it is they are told and to serve as chew toys for the higher ranks whenever they felt agitated. Cedar's mother was one such omega, and she was even low among omegas. She was abused daily, constantly being snapped at, bitten, shoved, and insulted. Her only escape was to venture the territory's outskirts at night. She'd toe the border, but never have the courage to cross, to abandon everything and start a totally new life.
One night, she met a handsome rogue, and soon, they began meeting every night, even if she knew it was forbidden for members of the pack to rendezvous with rogues. She became eager for the nights, the only chance she had to see her lover. She knew they couldn't go on like this forever. They had consummated their love, and in the coming weeks, she began planning her departure with him. She didn't know where they would go, but they would find somewhere, somewhere better, where they could be together and start a family.
Some pack members noticed her behavior. She seemed strange somehow, lighter on her feet and strangely cheery. Rumors were spread, that the female was up to something. It got to the guards, and they began investigating. The night she planned to leave with her paramour, two guards followed not far behind.
They caught the young woman and her lover. The guards killed him. Then they punished her. They snapped her tail and her ankle and beat her until she cowered beneath them, and they dragged her roughly by her scruff back into the heart of the territory.
The abuse from before was nothing compared to what she faced now, as a criminal. She thought many times about killing herself, but when she found out she was pregnant, she couldn't do it. She gave birth to a feeble litter of four. One didn't survive the birth, the others barely made it. Only one managed to survive her first few months. Cedar.
Being her mother's daughter was difficult. There was never enough food. Her mother had to fight for whatever scrap of meat she could. The rich taste of deer was a rare and unfamiliar thing to Cedar when she was young. The wolves in the higher castes and their children enjoyed it each day, but Cedar found herself eating mice and grasshoppers instead. Some days, she didn't eat anything. Cedar became envious of those that belonged to better ranks. Especially the children, who didn't suffer as she did, and didn't work a tenth as hard as her mother did each day, yet reaped all the benefits of their rank and never went hungry except during the lean times.
Cedar began stealing at a young age. She stole mainly from other pups, but every now and then she would get brave and steal from an adult. The guards did little about it, because she was nothing but an urchin. When she did not steal, she cultivated her fascination with plants, learning particularly of poisons... mild ones that will make a wolf sick when consumed, and strong ones that could kill in minutes. She knew well enough about beneficial herbs, but it was the harmful ones that captivated her imagination. She'd developed a vast mental library of what these plants did and would use it to her advantage... as a pup, she would occasionally leave mice for the other pups, mainly her bullies, laced with the juice of a holly berry or stuffed with poison ivy inside. They'd get so dreadfully sick that they could no longer bother her... though there were a few that got worse than sick.
As she grew, her behavior became more troublesome. When she reached adulthood, she kept stealing and she kept poisoning. At one point, she'd participated in a hunt to celebrate the Alpha's birthday, the deer would be all for him and his family. Given a moment alone with the prey, Cedar poisoned it with nightshade after the carcass was prepared, the entrails removed and the insides stuffed with sweet berries and fruit. The entire royal family became sick. The Alphas survived the poisoning, but their children met an unfortunate fate. After a short investigation, they accused her, not for any legitimate evidence, but for their need of a scapegoat. Her lowly position and small size made her a wonderful one. They sent their guards to punish her, beat her, and torture her for her crime. Cedar fled the territory immediately and ran until she could no longer run, until she was sure they wouldn't find her.
Finding herself a fugitive, Cedar wandered aimlessly until she met another loner like her in the autumn. He was a handsome gentleman and she found they were very compatible. She could see herself having children with this man. So they became mates. It didn't last very long.
Her mate had wandering eyes, and they came across another young female that winter. Her mate welcomed her to join them too eagerly, with too warm of a smile. Cedar didn't like it. Her mate was too unfaithful for her tastes, and for that he must pay. With a little trickery and cunning, Cedar led her mate and the girl to their deaths by a bear in a miserable bog. She watched it all from a safe distance, and when it was clear, she approached. The girl didn't make it, but her traitorous husband did. He was weak, too broken to stand.
"Thank god, Cedar... you're okay..." he weakly said. He tried to ask if the other girl was okay, trying hard to crawl to her, hoping to find a sign of life, but he failed to move more than an inch.
"Don't worry, my love. You'll join her soon," Cedar said before finishing him off with a bite to the throat. She didn't stop after a bite. She ravaged and mutilated what was left of him and abandoned his remains there. She survived the rest of the winter alone, but when spring arrived, she was gave birth to his four pups. They were fat, disgusting things, always crying for food and warmth, and even so small, still uniformly dark-colored, with closed eyes and folded ears, she could almost see a little bit of him in them. She wanted nothing to do with those things, so she left them alone in the bush they were born in and never looked back.
Now she is a lone wanderer again, thieving and killing to make a living.
